Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a system of solidarity between small rural producers, and urban residents looking for high quality natural vegetables that they can trust.
A group of consumers in Bucharest have formed a partnership with AMURTEL Poieni Farm to receive a weekly delivery of fresh vegetables. The farm is organically certified. Here is a link to a contract that contains the principles that guide a CSA project:
The farm also supplies vegetables and fruits to the Familia AMURTEL children’s home and to the Fountain of Hope After School Center, which are all non-profit projects of the association.
The farm is also part of AMURTEL’s Vistara socio-professional integration program for young people that are transitioning out of the care system – at the moment, primarily from our “Familia AMURTEL” children’s home. The Vistara youth have the opportunity to gain practical work experience, as well as benefit from the therapeutic value of working with the earth.
